Hey professor Duncan I hope you feel better. I tried to e-mail you a last weekend but maybe I sent it to the wrong e-mail address?
Anyway I was thinking about writing my paper on the messiah figures in the Yiddish Policemen's Union, The Matrix Trilogy, and the Bible. In YPU, the messiah figure gives his life to expose a zionist plot. In the Matrix Neo gives his life to save the human race and dies. Jesus gives his life for the human race and is raised to life again. What do you guys think?

Its been awhile since reading the Yiddish Policeman's Union, but did Mendel really just give himself up for the good of the Jews? It seemed by this point in his life he had almost about given up. Outcast from his family and he became a junkie.
ReplyDeleteTrue he did pretty much give up but I thought he died in a way that Landsman would find him and investigate it right? Maybe i'm wrong. That was my understanding.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds very interesting but Mendel didn't come back from the dead so that kills of the second part about him being a proper Messiah.
ReplyDeleteHave you considered writing about Landsman as a Messiah figure since he kind of died and came back from the dead in the end?
