Why are they releasing a movie about the end of mankind in 2012 in 2009? Am I missing something here?
Because if they released it in 2012 we would all be dead before we could see it. But seriously I hope this is actually a good movie and not just really good special effects. Most likely it will be pretty bad, but one can dream.
